Social Media Marketing Simplification – How To Map Out Your Strategy

25 01 2010

This is only going to be a quick one about Social Media Marketing today, but compelling never the less. Marketing in itself is daunting, we look at a few factors. We look at if the market exists, we try to find out where the people that populate this market are, and we push a product or website in their direction and hope that they will take notice.

A lot of people struggle with this, and rightfully so. The term “marketing” itself sounds like it should come with 4 years of college education and market research experience. This is definitely not the case, however the purpose of this post today is not about how to research your market and find prospective customers (that will come in the next few days), this is about simplifying social media marketing, and getting a 2 hours job done without even noticing it.

You Can Effectively Market Your Product Through Social Media

Social Media has a huge advantage. There are so many populated social media networks out there, each is populated in part by people who are in your market. This is great news of course, but distributing your message to those who are in those networks can be extremely time consuming and demanding.

Anyway, to cut to the chase, I have drawn out a map this morning that covers a basic way of distributing your message abroad. This is inspired by a few other methods that I have read and tried before, however this one is really on the money, not just for social media marketing itself, but for the area that involves tracking of clicks and researching what your market really responds well to. This is in the form of the tracking in the Bit.ly platform, and in Ping.fm

Enjoy, you are free to share and distribute this, I have also included it in a pdf format as well as an image, just please be sure to link back if you want to share it.

All the best,
